Tales of the Chalice: by Sarantus

"Descension"

Born in the wilds of Faldazaren, Taiko had only known peace. His world was within the canopy of the great blue trees called drada; and cities only existed in tales told by his ancestors. But when he and his brothers are captured by a creature thought to exist only within those fantastical tales; they are plunged in a world swathed in stormy shadow; a land scarred by war – and tinted red from the ravages of murdering dragons.

Dragons possessed by demons.

Demons bent on the destruction of Taiko’s world.

And there is only one hope – one way for Taiko to save his brothers, his people, and his world. He must descend into the Blood City; Demrazegard, the seat of the dragons’ demonic power and recover Akraza’Mard, the creation chalice. Only then will he discover the secret to the destruction of the creatures killing his world; and the ability to restore life and light to the land.

After only 20 years, the League of Legends, keepers of peace on the continent of Valoran, had become corrupt. The city-stat of Noxus had several operatives in the League, swaying the Council of War into allowing League matches that expanded Noxian territory, and the supposedly outlawed practice of necromancy was increasing all over Valoran. Demacia and Ionia were protesting the decisions of the Council, and were on the verge of war with Noxus and Zaun. When Akali, a champion of the League, discovered a hidden Noxian plot, she and several others who had grown wise to the plot were removed from the League. With the knowledge of the Noxian plan, she, with the approval of her superiors in the Kinkou Order, set out to stop Noxus.

But Akali’s removal caused Demacia and Ionia to snap. Now, with the League kept blind to the military movements around them, Valoran was in disarray. The Demacian-Ionian army was heading straight for Noxus, and the Noxian military was heading straight for Demacia, and right where they would clash: The Institute of War. Can Akali and her allies warn the League before it is destroyed forever?
